Forge of Empire Shah Jahan historical questline, 2017

New Forge of Empire historical questline – Shah Jahan – starts on 12th of June, 2017. There are 12 quests to finish in one week.

You will receive Hedge Maze and Portrait of Shah Jahan if you’ll complete all quests by 19th of June, 2017.

Here is list of all quests with tips. Each completed quest will give you a random reward. Random reward can be coins, supplies, goods, great building blue print and etc.

1 The Fifth Emperor. Shah Jahan was the fifth Emperor of the Mughal empire in the Indian sub-continent. The Mughal empire existed from the year 1526 until 1858. At its peak, it was the richest empire in the world.

2 Rebel Prince. Shah Jahan was born in the year 1592 as Prince Khurram. He received a broad education as a prince and led his troops to military victories as a young man. He succeeded his father, Emperor Jahangir, as the Mughal Emperor in the year 1628.
Build 1 Cultural building from your age or 2 from the previous age – Tips: check your inventory as you probably have unused cultural building there.

3 Planning and Execution. Upon being crowned emperor, Shah Jahan had his brother, nephews and cousins executed immediately. He also imprisoned his step mother Nur Jahan. This allowed him to consolidate his power in the Mughal court.

4 Golden Age. Shah Jahan reigned for 30 years. These years are known as the golden age of Mughal architecture. The best known monument from this time is the Taj Mahal. Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Lahore Fort are other beautiful monuments built during this period.

5 A loving Marraige. Shag Jahan became engaged to Mumtaz Mahal in 1607, when she was 13 and he was 15 years old. They married 5 years later. Mumtaz Mahal was the favorite of the emperor’s three wives.

6 The Empress. Mumtax Mahal served as a trusted advisor and confidante to her husband. As empress, she wielded immense power. She also accompanied her husband in his travels all across the Mughal empire.

Motivate or Polish 25 buildings
7 A Sad Loss. Mumtaz Mahal died giving birth to their 14th child. Shah Jahan was distraught by the loss of his beloved wife and commissioned a mausoleum to be built for her. Today it is one of the most famous buildings in the world – the Taj Mahal in Agra, India

8 Taj Mahal. Described by the poet Rabindranath Tagore as ‘A teardrop on the cheek of time’, the Taj Mahal was built with ivory-white marble and inlaid with precious and semi-precious stones. 
Recruit 5 units from your age or 8 from the previous age – Tips: you can get units also from Alcatraz GB or in Guild Expedition
Gather 50 goods – Tips: fastest way is to make a trade for 50 goods on the market. Age isn’t matter
9 Illness. Shah Jahan fell ill in 1658 and his eldest son assumed the role of Emperor. However his third son, Aurangzeb, gathered a powerful army, defeated his brothers and crowned himself Emperor.

10 Death. Shah Jahan was declared incompetent to rule by his son Aurangzeb. He was then put under house arrest for 8 years, until his death in 1666.

11 Together Again. Today, Shah Jahan’s body lies entombed next to his beloved wife under the Taj Mahal. His tomb is the only unsymmetrical structure in the entire Taj Mahal.

12 Crumbling Empire. The Mughal Empire started a slow but inevitable decline during the reign of Shah Jahan son, Aurangzeb. After more than a century of wars, rebellions and further invasions, the Mughal dynasty ended in the year 1858.
