You can use our <a href=\"https:\/\/calculatorsworld.com\/financial\/nz-income-tax-calculator\/\">New Zealand  income tax estimator<\/a> to  check how much taxes you should expect to pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These rates <strong>don&#8217;t include ACC Levy<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/calculatorsworld.com\/financial\/acc-earners-levy-rates-in-new-zealand\/\">Check here for latest ACC levy rates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History of tax rates in New Zealand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In New Zealand personal income rates are not updated yearly like in some other countries (<a aria-label=\"Canada for example (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/calculatorscanada.ca\/federal-tax-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in Canada for example<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last major tax rates update in New Zealand happened in 2010. The tax rates for all tax brackets were decreased:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>for lowest tax bracket (0-$14,000) tax rate was decreased from 12.5% to 10.5%<\/li><li>for $14,001-$48,000 tax bracket the rate was decreased from 21.0% to 17.5%<\/li><li>for $48,000-$70,000 &#8211; tax rate decreased from 33.0% to 30.0%<\/li><li>and for income above $70,000 tax rate
